[cs-grads] Shocking news about Feng Chen

On Friday night, Feng Chen had a sudden heart attack in his appartment. He was quickly transported to Carle Hospital but he did not make it through the night: Feng passed away on Saturday morning at 4am.

This is the most terrible and shocking news one can think of. He was a PhD student in our department since 2002 and one of the most productive students we have ever had, covering all the major conferences in formal methods, software engineering and programming languages (ICSE, OOPSLA, CAV, TACAS, SAS, ASE, etc.). He was in the process of graduating, having an offer for a tenure track assistant professor at Iowa State.

His parents are making desperate efforts to get visas and come to the US for the funeral. Depending on that, we will know precisely when the funeral will take place and will make further announcements.
